Welcome!
I’m Gabrielle Lavoie and I am a Brooklyn based multi-hyphenate artist with a passion for creating something out of nothing and putting a smile to people’s faces while doing it! I have had the pleasure of performing live as a vocalist at Valleyfair Amusement Park and Hershey Park, and on tour as puppeteer with Plaza Theatrical Productions! As well as being on set as an actor with Journey Entertainment and Crazy Maple Studios!
A huge passion of mine has always been creating my own work. I created, wrote, directed, produced, edited, and starred in a six episode web series alongside one of my best friends, Devin Butera. A raunchy comedy about two young, queer twenty-somethings trying to make ends meat in NYC while trying to escape the NYC hustle of it all. This was absolutely so fun to make and I loved getting to challenge my artistry by stepping behind the camera! High & Dry is available to stream here. I have plans to direct, write, and star in more of my own projects later this year!
As a performer, I have been chasing the high of being a triple threat performer since I first saw High School Musical. (Forgive me. I’m from New Hampshire, this was Broadway to me.) I have an infinity for all things camp and some of my biggest inspirations are movies like Party Girl, Clue, and Earth Girls Are Easy… just to name a few. I’m a huge musical theatre nerd as well and I can’t wait to play parts like Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Penny Pingleton in Hairspray, Mallory Kingsley in City of Angels, and one day, Mama Rose in Gypsy. I am interested in physical theatre pieces, comedy, devised work, new work, and queer stories. I am committed to using my voice to uplift others and fighting for equal representation and diversity in the theatre.
Here are some of my current inspirations:
- Anna Biller
- Mona May
- vampires
- Chromakopia by Tyler the Creator
- polka dots
